Flame burnt down the roof, the walls… People were screaming and running around like a helpless deer, chased by fierce monsters. Everything around me was falling apart, houses, buildings, people’s spirit… young me was hopeless… Those evil eyes I could never forget…
“Wake up, mercs! Do your thing and clear the path!” the owner of the caravan shouted.
After the fallout brought by the portal, our land was invaded by the demons, many men were killed in the invasion, but the last of us managed to survive in the everlasting darkness.
Some fought, some decided to drift along.
“Sure thing!” I replied, waking up from the lasting dream, the lasting memory.
“Burn down those imps, Ignis! “
Ironic isn't it? My home was burnt to ashes, but now I’m a fire Elementalist. I went on a journey to seek revenge, but now I'm a soldier of fortune.
The imps were attacking the caravan we were hired to escort, and I won’t let them ruin my caravan of coins. I stuck my staff into the ground, channeling the power within me, rain of fire fell from the sky, burning everything they touch. The imps sizzled, and… Let’s just say they are being dealt with.
“Nice one!”Bestia smiled, " but shouldn't you have left a few for me? It’s boring in there.”
“Next patch will be yours, I"ll take a nap.”
Bestia is one of the four mercs in my team, he tames beasts, mostly hounds, though.
“What are our plans that, what are we doing next once we arrived De Lumine?” said our crusader, Tutamen.
“Probably going to get ourselves hurt and crying ?” nagged Sano, pointing at my bruised arm “Can you guys be careful and stop getting yourself killed, I’m a doctor, not a miracle worker!”
“You're a merc, and seventy percent miracle worker, I'm sure you can take care of me, right?” Bestia giggled. Sano shook her head lightly, smiling.
“We spend some coins and make some coins maybe? I know a great steak house in De Lumine.”
“Sure!”
We continued our way to DeLumine. The wind howled, and the storm was restless but other than that the night was surprisingly peaceful, a moment of peace and quiet, probably just a moment though.
